In our cellular network, the base station (BS) is allowed to operate in full-duplex (FD) or half-duplex (HD) mode and serve one HD user on the uplink and downlink channel, respectively. In pre-vious work, the authors proposed a duplex switching criterion based on the channel information within a cell and the statistical other-cell interference information. In this thesis, we discuss the effect of user scheduling on duplex switching. The first scheduling method we considered is proportional fair scheduling which chooses the user with the best channel condition relative to its average. The other two user scheduling methods - minimum distance and maximum received power - aim for higher power gain. Using stochastic geometry, we approximate the other-cell interference under the influence of user scheduling and use it to assist the decision of the duplex mode in each cell. The simulation results show thatthe proposed duplex switching method improves the average sum rate under the three user scheduling mechanisms over the pure FD and the pure HD schemes. |
