dc.description.abstract | 世界銀行的報告顯示,2016 年世界城市的固體廢物產量為 20.1 億噸。其中 至少有 3% 的此類廢物在全球範圍內通過戶外傾倒或燃燒而管理不善。這些導 致嚴重的空氣污染和戴奧辛的排放。其中一個重要的解決方案即是資源回收。 為了研究是否有可能通過輕推提高高回收率國家的回收率,我們在國立台灣大 學的校園進行了實地試驗。我們的實驗處置是透過將可回收樣品放在相對應的 資源回收桶上。並且通過對差異中之差異法和固定效應的分析,我們發現實驗 1 中平均亂扔垃圾量分別減少了 25%、實驗 2 減少了 10%。兩項結果均具有統 計學意義。我們的研究表明,即使在高回收率的國家,簡單的輕推設計也能夠 對我們的資源回收行為發揮影響力。 | zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | According to a World Bank report, the worlds’ cities generated 2.01 billion tonnes of solid waste in 2016. At least 33% of this waste is mismanaged globally today through open dumping or burning. These approaches lead to severe air pollution and the emis- sion of dioxins. One vital solution is recycling. To investigate whether it is possible to increase the recycling rate in a high-recycling-rate country by using nudges, we con- ducted field experiments on the campus of National Taiwan University in Taiwan. In the treatment we set up, we put real recyclable samples on top of the corresponding trash bins. Using difference in difference and fixed effect models, we found that the average amount of littering decreased by 25% in experiment 1 and by 10% in experi- ment 2. Both results are statistically significant. Our study suggests that a simple nudge is able to greatly impact recycling behavior, even in a high-recycling-rate country. | en |
