dc.description.abstract | 中國改革開放初期缺乏資本及技術,透過招商引資等吸引外資政策,幫助中國經濟長期高速成長。然而次貸危機後,中國面臨經濟成長及技術進步放緩,因此本文欲探討中國的外國直接投資(FDI)對生產力的投入品質為何?並探討外國直接投資(FDI)和研究開發(R&D)對生產力的貢獻為何?再依據實證結果提出政策建議。
由實證結果發現FDI、人力資本、吸收能力對中國經濟成長為正向貢獻,但FDI、吸收能力顯著,人力資本不顯著。這表示正向的技術外溢效應是存在的;總要素生產力的估計為1.86%,與過往文獻估計差異不大,代表FDI、人力資本、吸收能力對生產力影響,非數量投入也非高品質投入,這將限制長期技術進步。另外再比較FDI及R&D對生產力的貢獻,發現FDI及R&D對生產力為正向貢獻,但R&D顯著、FDI不顯著;R&D產出彈性明顯大於FDI,表示R&D較FDI更能促進技術進步。 | zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | At the beginning of China's reform and opening up, China lacked capital and technology. Through attracting foreign investments and other policies, China's economy grew rapidly in the long term. However, after the subprime mortgage crisis, China is facing a slowdown in economic growth and technological progress. Therefore, this paper intends to discuss the quality of China's foreign direct investment (FDI) in productivity, the contributions of foreign direct investment (FDI) and development (R&D) to productivity. Then, we can make policy recommendations based on empirical results.
The empirical results show that FDI, human capital and absorptive capacity make positive contributions to China's economic growth. However, FDI and absorptive capacity are significant, while human capital is not. This indicates positive technological spillover effect is present. The estimated total factor productivity is 1.86%, which is not different from previous literature estimates. It represents the impact of FDI, human capital and absorption capacity on productivity, and it is neither quantitative input nor high-quality input, which will limit long-term technological progress. In addition, by comparing the contributions of FDI and R&D to productivity, it is found that FDI and R&D have positive contributions to productivity, but R&D is significant while FDI is not. R&D output elasticity is obviously better than FDI, indicating that R&D can promote technological progress more than FDI. | en |
