dc.description.abstract | This business plan, “Used Car Public Record Online Service – Car Fact of Taiwan” is a blueprint for a service company which provides information that can benefit all parties involved in the used car business. The service and information provided by this company could be extremely valuable for a small fee.
If you have ever considered buying a used car, once you have found the one car that seems to meets your demand, the last question that comes to your mind before a final decision is made is usually related to the car’s past record. For the general public, it is hard to tell if a car has been in a major accident once the car has been repaired. An inspection of the car’s condition is usually performed by friends, a third party agency or second-hand car dealers. It is therefore, hard to determine the quality and the credibility of the result. I propose to form a company that provides credible information on a used car’s history by linking the information provided by government agencies, the police, insurance companies and repair shops. We will build an information system that automatically imports the public record to our site CARFACT.TW. This site will provide a credible and reliable record via a vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). I have also: 1) Analyzed Taiwan’s used car market and the demand pool for such information. 2) Provided a comparison chart of nearby countries offering a similar service. 3) Studied the feasibility to build such an information network. 4) Calculated the funds needed to create a website and initial expenses. 5) Used Porter’s Five Forces as an analysis for this business against competition. 6) Finally, evaluated the chances for this company to be successful and the time it will take for this company to turn a profit. | en |
