利用表格與筆記進行組織的知識管理工具

Abstract

表格是一種利於彙整資料的格式之一，研究者利用表格進行分析、觀察，是研究流程中不可或缺的過程。 但研究者對於表格的分析、觀察卻不易與表格資料對照、查詢，這使得表格的分析、觀察與表格資料之間產生了斷層，研究者因為這個斷層往往需要花費數倍的時間反覆的查找表格與分析資料，進而阻礙研究的進展速度。 而所有表格種類中，又以彙整文獻表格的斷層最為嚴重，目前的表格工具中，儘管有管理試算表用於數據分析的工具，卻沒有一個適合處理彙整文獻表格的工具。 彙整文獻表格的分析以筆記文字紀錄居多，所以本研究將以處理彙整文獻表格斷層為目標，進行探討，並提出表格筆記的架構，且依此架構建構一套表格筆記工具，進而達到銜接表格斷層與知識管理的最終目標。 除此之外本工具利用了DocuSky個人資料庫的概念，以DocuSky為系統平台，讓研究者可以自行得上傳、管理研究表格，也能夠自行選擇DocuSky平台所建構的工具，進行文字探勘等後續分析。

When sorting through field research material or notes from books, it is common for a researcher to open a table (such as through Microsoft Excel) and record findings in a table format. Using table to organize, observer, and analyze textual data has become an indispensable part of humanities research. However, as the number of entries increase, it also becomes increasingly difficult to trace what has been recorded and to do meaningful analysis. In order to discover relationships among the entries, a user may need several orders the time spent on building the data. This task is especially critical if the table contains textual data (versus numerical data), because of the lack of adequate tools for such purposes. In this research we study the structures of tables that humanists often use to build records. In addition to the usual Excel-like table, we have also added a feature of “notes”, which is an attribute that people can use to make remarks of contents in the table. A note can correspond to multiple cells in a table, which makes connecting related cells easier. A recommendation mechanism is also incorporated to make recommendations to a user of similar notes that had been made before. Our system is incorporated into the DocuSky platform. DocuSky is a personalized Digital Humanities research platform developed in our laboratory and is being extensively used by Sinologists. With our system, a user can upload tables, annotate and manage the content, interact with other tools in DocuSky, and make text mining of notes.
