dc.description.abstract | Virtual reality (VR) uses computers to create a virtual environment that can simulate the real environment and is applied to assembly and disassembly process planning. Through assembly and disassembly process simulation, thus production can be reduced. Currently, environmental awareness is arising, product maintenance and end-of-life processing must be considered during the early design stage. Selective disassembly method is developed for product reuse, recycle and remanufacturing. In this research, a selective disassembly sequence planning is implemented in a mixed reality (MR) environment to enhance the realism and immersion from VR. MR combines the real and virtual environments. In the prior research, users used references or virtual human model, instead of real human, to conduct disassembly processes. To provide a more intuitive application, MR is used so that users can use their own real hands to operate disassembly processes. The system has to reach smooth, intuitive, immersive, user-friendly and effective operating. This research uses an electronic driver as a case study to show the process of the developed MR-based disassembly process. The advantages and disadvantages of the system are also discussed. | en |
