zh_TW
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of media-based leisure activities on happiness, controlling for demographic, healthy and national variables. Using international survey data from Taiwan (n=2,122), Japan (n=1,075) and South Korea (n=1,400) in 2007. The results of chi-test show that the most media-base leisure activities significantly associate with happiness and the percentage of happy samples more than the percentage of unhappy samples in all groups of participation frequency. In addition, logistic regression analysis find four participant frequency of media-base leisure activities are significantly positive effect happiness, when we control for socio-demographic, health status and country variables. This study concludes the group of medium frequency with media-based leisure activities that “listen to music”, “go to the movies” and “using Internet/ PC” are contribute to increase happy in whole life and become the important resource of happiness in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. Future research also needs to examine the relationship among contents, time budget of media-base leisure and happiness.en
