Background: Taiwan has officially become an aging country in 2018 with 14% of population age 65 and over and the percentage of aging population is expected to become 20% in 2026, which makes Taiwan become a super-age society. In recent years, the government has developed long-term care system and invested many resources to promote age at home for Taiwanese older adults. Home care has been one of the major support for older adults to age at home. To promote age at home, varies home care information systems have been developed. Many home care providers rely on information technology to promote care quality, productivity, enhance care safety, and enhance management functions. Whether the information system can achieve the expectation and promote users to continue to use the information system depend on multiple factors, such as users’ willingness and satisfaction. Purpose: The purpose this study was to use DeLone and McLean Model of Information Systems Success to explore the relationships between home care service providers’ satisfaction from multiple aspects and their continuous use intention of the home care information system. Methods: This is a cross-sectional survey study. The current study used D&M IS Success Mode theory of the information system as the research framework to explore the relationships between users ’satisfaction and their intension to use are through an online questionnaire. According to the model, home care providers’ satisfaction was assessed from multiple aspects, including satisfaction toward system quality, satisfaction toward information quality, and satisfaction toward service quality. Descriptive analysis was used to explore the distribution of demographic factors, quality satisfaction, and intension to use status among system users. Bivariate analyses, such as ANOVA, were used to understand the different aspects of satisfaction toward quality and intension to use among different age groups, work position groups, and different levels of literacy groups. Finally, multiple regressions were used to analyze the impact of different aspects of satisfaction toward quality on the degree of intension to use. The current study also summarized the open-ended question to understand the use problems and future needs. Result: During the study period, the active members of the home-care information system were 339, only 119 questionnaires were returned. the responding rate was 35.1%. The mean scores of user’s satisfaction scores were 3.026 (SD=0.4999), 3.031 (SD=0.5615), 3.008, (SD=0.5781) for satisfactions toward system quality, information quality, and service quality respectively. These indicated users were generally satisfied with varies aspects of qualities. Users also showed high intension to use (3.163, SD=0.5455). Users at different work positions (p = 0.049) have significant differences in system quality satisfaction. Users with different experiences in number of computer software (p = 0.028) also have significant differences in intension to use. The remaining demographic factors have no impact on intension to use. system quality (ß = 0.378, p <0.001), information quality (ß = 0.360, p <0.001) and service Quality (ß = 0.179, p = 0.014) had significant and positive impacts on intension to use. However, information integration across different health professional remained challenged for developing a home care information system. Conclusion and Recommendation: A good home care information system can meet the needs of caregivers and promote their intension to use spontaneously in terms of system quality, information quality, and service quality. Different aspects of satisfaction toward service qualities have different impact on intension to use. Designing the system from users’ perspective and meeting users’ expectation toward system quality and information quality should be priorities when developing a home care information system. When the system is well developed, satisfaction toward system quality and information quality may be more important than service quality. Different work position has different expectations for the function of the information system. Low information literacy has a low intension to use. When the information system is developed, it is necessary to pay attention to the differences between different users at work positions and users with different levels of information literacy. In the future, when developing effective information systems, targeting on the differences identified to develop management rules, increase internal use consensus, and provide template may be strategies to achieve the best outcomes. How to use information technology to integrate and use data across different professionals or even different care systems and promote the integration of long-term care systems is the challenge and priority for future long-term care policy development. |
