dc.description.abstract | 近年來,因為網路科技的迅速發展,網路使用量快速成長,造成網路通訊設備(ICT)所產生的碳排放量與耗電量日以遽增,不只造成溫室效應與全球暖化等環境影響,也使網路營運商與業界的維護成本增加。因此,如何讓網路通訊設備有效的使用電量成為了重要的議題。本論文提出使用於網路路由器的節能機制並且實作於使用OpenFlow協定之軟體定義網路上(Software-defined-network, SDN)。我們介紹軟體定義網路與其協定OpenFlow,提出節能機制並且敘述我們的實作環境,同時透過實驗來評估節能機制的省電效果。最後,我們的實驗結果顯示節能機制能降低網路的能源消耗。 | zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | In recent years, because the development of Internet technology, the rapid growth of Internet usage, resulting in increase of carbon footprint and the dramatic increase in power consumption from network communication equipment (ICT), which not only cause the greenhouse effect and global warming, but also cause the maintenance costs of network operators and industry increase. So, how to make effective use the power of network communications equipment has become an important issue. This thesis proposes the use of energy-saving mechanism for network switches and implemented in software-defined network (SDN) using OpenFlow protocol. We introduce the software-defined-network and the OpenFlow protocol, propose a Power Saving mechanism and describe our environment for implementation, and to evaluate the performance of power saving mechanism through experiments. Finally, our experimental results show that power saving mechanisms can reduce network switch energy consumption. | en |
