| zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | Purpose: Evaluate the risk factors associated with fair long-term walking gait and the potential of constipation development in canine pelvic fractures.
Materials and Methods: Over a 5-year-period(2005~2010), dogs admitted to the NTUVH with pelvic fractures or associated complications were identified retrospectively. Evaluate the application of Messmer classification on evaluating long-term walking gait. Establish the new measuring methods including ilium body ratio(IBR) and acetabulum angle(AcA) to evaluate their application on evaluating long-term walking gait. Analysis the specific risk factors associated with pelvic canal stenosis and the pelvic canal diameter ratio(PCDr) associated with constipation development. Conclusions: Acetabular fracture is the most prominent risk factor influencing the canine long-term walking gait. There are no statistical difference of IBR and AcA on predicting long-term walking gait because of lack of clinical cases. When ipsilateral ilium body and ischium body fracture simultaneously with hip joint intact, the PCDr would decrease after trauma. When PCDr less than 0.64, the potential of constipation development is increased. | en |
