This thesis is about the task of abused women seeking for employment and the rough of departing from marital violence. The in-depth reporting part was completed by interviewing abused women and the children that witnessed domestic violence, social workers, non-government organizations providing vocational training, and enterprises providing jobs.
Practically, social workers deal with abused women’s crisis and trauma until their situation turns stable. If there’s a need for employment, mostly the social workers referred abused women to the employment service agencies. However, while the referral facing difficulties in the workplace, employment service agencies cannot do more follow-up counseling due to lack of manpower. One’s work and life are in fact correlative with each other, therefore, to help the abused women to live an organized life is to help them keep a job steadily as well. The way to help abused women start a new life with work is to increase the number of social workers. Let the workers do more follow-up counseling and keep in touch with the employers after job matchmaking, so that the employers can concern less about the disadvantages of hiring abused women. With stable job and income, abused women may gain more power to decide whether to leave the offender or not. With the reinforcements from others, they can go more smoothly on the way to a reconstructive life.
