拒絕中華思想——論中嶋嶺雄的中國觀與台灣敘事

Abstract

本文在探討名聞國際的中國研究者中嶋嶺雄對現代中國與台灣的觀察與預測，特別是以他右翼學者的身份，在中國急速崛起的情勢下，如何基於為日本自身定位的需要，藉由影響台灣政府的兩岸政策，以制約兩岸和平交流、牽制中國發展來實現右翼對日本亞洲身分的特定立場（厥為「以臺抑中」策略）。他對中國的批判正是出於對「中華思想」的警覺與抗拒，也使得他將中國定性為畸形國家並嘗試將其國家前途完全抹殺。另一方面，則是藉由「替台灣人擔憂」的心態，試圖把台灣推離「中華思想」的影響範圍之外。他大力提倡「中國威脅論」，並意圖把美、日、台三國的國家前途綁在一起，以對抗中國的霸權戰略。同時，他始終期望中國分裂、崩潰，並試圖將中國排除於「東亞」概念之外。他的右翼立場蒙蔽了他的視野，因而陷入無法把握中國發展的新動向之泥沼。

This thesis reviews Nakajima Mineo’s China scholarship, particularly his observation and prediction of China’s path (or lack of such a path) to modernity. His various comments on Taiwan evolves around his view of China. On the whole, his writings fall in the scope of post-War Right Wing thinking. This is probably why Nakajima pays special attention to the alleged rise of China when he urges Taiwan to restrain cross-strait exchanges from over-grwoth. His as well as the Right Wing thinking comes from a specific belief concerning what Asia is and how Japan assumes leadership thereof. Nakajima proposes, accordingly, a strategic scheme where Taiwan achieves significance by its contribution to the containment of China. His analysis faults China for being backward and abnormal, hoping to dissolve the popular tendency of China-centricism. He is therefore anxious about Taiwan’s future, which reproduces his warning of China threat. In response, Nakajima suggests to combine United States, Japan and Taiwan into an alliance against China to the effect of expediting China split and collapse. Equally peculiar in his analysis is that there is no reference to China in his discussion of “East Asia”.
