| dc.description.abstract | 自八０年代以來，國家中心理論在政治學研究上的復甦，的確重大影響政治學的研究方法與範疇，在社會科學研究脫離不了實際現象的情況下，另外與此同時的亞洲四小龍的經濟發展，吸引了許多此一學派學者的目光，紛紛將台灣視為是一個對內可以帶動經濟發展，對外可以維持存在的強大的「發展型國家」，並不加思索地將台灣視為是一個「給定國家」（state as given），忽略其外生於本土社會的本質。自九０年代起，台灣所出現的民主運動與民主進程，卻不斷挑戰這個被國家中心論者所大肆讚揚的「國家」，要求重塑國家-社會關係，並在國際層面上尋求各國的承認與尊重。
本文主要運用新國家中心論學者John Hobson的「新整合途徑」，從歷史層面分別檢視台灣在國際-國家-社會三個層次的交流互動的影響關係，雖同意新國家中心論者其國家在國際與國內的能動力乃源於國家-社會關係的研究成果，但卻發現彼等過度重視以實際的經濟性、物質性指標，以及國家與資本階級的關係作為驗證國家-社會關係為鑲嵌或隔離的觀點，以致無法解釋當前台灣所面臨的困局。本文則試圖提出另一個新國家中心論者較為忽視的理念性--民族主義質素，並用此重新檢視台灣的國家-社會關係，從而發現當前的中華民國體制，並非國家中心論者所認為的是一個強大國家，而是一個無法與社會鑲嵌的國家，投射在國際層面上，為一個得不到世界多數國家承認、國際地位低落的弱國，在國家-社會關係上，則充斥著認同問題、政治紛擾，嚴重影響台灣的生存與發展。 因此本文結論建議揚棄中華民國此一外來國家的體制，建立一個與台灣社會能夠真正確實鑲嵌的新國家，藉由對國家-社會關係的合理化，方能強化國家在國際與國內層面的能動力，從而對內化解認同問題，對外確保國家安全。 | zh_TW |
