| zh_TW |
| dc.description.abstract | This study systematically investigates digital transformation strategies and practices in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry through an in-depth case analysis of S company Group, the world’s largest TIC enterprise. Against the backdrop of rapid digital technology advancement and dramatic global economic changes, the TIC industry faces unprecedented transformation pressures and opportunities. This research aims to deeply understand the characteristics, driving forces, implementation pathways, and critical success factors of digital transformation in the TIC industry.
The research methodology combines literature review, industry analysis, and case study approaches. The literature review integrates digital transformation theory, organizational change theory, and competitive strategy theory. Industry analysis systematically examines the TIC industry’s structure, value chain, and competitive landscape. The case study analyzes S company’s Strategy 27 digital transformation strategy, implementation process, and performance evaluation. Research findings reveal that digital maturity in the TIC industry shows significant stratification, with approximately 60% of organizations at early-to-intermediate digital stages. Digital transformation not only enhances efficiency but creates new service models, including transitions from one-time testing to continuous monitoring services, from test reports to data insight services, and from linear value chains to platform ecosystems. S company’s Strategy 27 positions digitalization as the core strategy, adopting a “centralized planning, distributed execution, continuous iteration” methodology, focusing on customer experience digitalization, operational efficiency improvement, data capability building, and emerging technology exploration. After several years of implementation, S company has achieved significant results, including 15-20% reduction in laboratory cycle time and annual cost savings of hundreds of millions of Swiss Francs. The research identifies nine critical success factors, including top management commitment, clear strategic vision, systematic approach, change management, agile implementation, talent development, data strategy, ecosystem collaboration, and strategic flexibility. This research contributes by filling the gap in TIC industry digital transformation research, enriching digital transformation theory applications in professional services, providing actionable strategic frameworks for TIC enterprises, offering insights on critical success factors for managers, and providing policy recommendations for policymakers to support industry digitalization. | en |
