Artificial intelligence (AI) is a main influence on the semiconductor equipment manufacturers (SEM) industry. This thesis aims to study the influences focusing on L Company as a case study. Through industry expert interviews and data analysis, this study research how AI-driven advancements are reshaping the industry for semiconductor equipment manufacturers (SEM). By applying Porter’s Five Forces and PESTEL framework, the research identifies the external forces, like pressure from major semiconductor clients demanding customized tool configurations and shorter delivery timelines. The research further highlights how geopolitical risks, such as trade tensions and global supply chain disruptions influence companies to adopt strategic localization in markets like Taiwan, Malaysia, and India. Recommendations from the study also emphasize the importance of talent development through academic partnerships and proactive collaboration with customers. Also emphasizing the agility in government regulatory and ESG enhancement. By addressing these areas, SEM companies can navigate the evolving competitive industry to ensure sustainable growth. Finally, the research will provide insights on how AI can be leveraged as a tool for SEM companies to enhance operational efficiency and maintain competitive.
