| dc.description.abstract | Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Eswatini's economy, supporting rural livelihoods, food security, and national economic stability. This paper explores how enhancing agriculture productivity can drive economic transformation in Eswatini, highlighting the sector's current contributions and its potential for fostering sustainable development. Despite its importance, the agriculture sector faces significant challenges, including lack of finance, climate change, urbanization and lack of land legislation. Addressing these challenges through targeted policies and strategic investments can unlock the sector's potential, enhancing productivity and enabling the change from subsistence to commercial farming. The paper also examines the agricultural policies implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture to leverage the sector potential to drive economic transformation and proposing actionable strategies to enhance their effectiveness. By leveraging its agricultural strengths, Eswatini can achieve a more diversified and resilient economy, contributing to poverty alleviation, job creation, and overall economic transformation. This analysis stresses the necessity for a coordinated approach of agricultural expansion, integrating technological innovation, sustainable practices, and inclusive policies to catalyze economic transformation in Eswatini. | zh_TW |
