This paper aims to study the relationship between Chinese foreign direct investment (CFDI) inflow, economic growth, power sector development, and carbon emission in Myanmar from 2000 to 2019. Our study employs a dual-method approach; we combined a comprehensive review of existing literature, complemented by linear regression, trend, and Spearman correlation analyses. Our finding reveals a strong positive relationship between Chinese FDI and Myanmar's economic growth and power sector development indicators. However, these investments come with expenses to sustainable growth, remarkably increasing carbon emissions. Our key findings address the critical need for a robust policy and regulatory framework to ensure sustainable development in Myanmar and address the challenges of foreign investment.zh_TW
