| dc.description.abstract | The economic recession and inflationary effects caused by the US-China trade war, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict present both challenges and opportunities for the Taiwan ICT industry. This study examines the emerging 5G Solutions Development Sub-BU(5GSDSBU) of Company I, one of the top ICT companies in Taiwan, and analyzes its process and strategies for digital transformation through a case study approach. The 5GSDSBU actively participates in government-led 5G initiatives and leverages its in-house factories, government subsidies, and technology transfer from academia, which establishes Company I as a leader in Taiwan's 5G smart factory sector. However, the 5GSDSBU faces challenges due to numerous competitors with similar 5G applications in factories and the rapid evolution of network technologies. To stand out in the market and pursue international opportunities, the 5GSDSBU should identify its niche market and actively seek horizontal alliances and collaborations. This research utilizes the PESTEL model to analyze the ICT industry's macroeconomic aspects, while Porter's Five Forces examines Company I's competitiveness at the microeconomic level. SWOT analysis delves into the internal strengths, weaknesses, external opportunities, and threats in Company I's 5G sector for digital transformation. Additionally, TOWS analysis cross-references these factors to identify strategies that leverage strengths and mitigate threats. Data collection involves accessing publicly available information from Company I and adopting non-invasive research methods to avoid potential biases. | en |
