摘要: -
Extreme heat waves, devastating flooding, drought, and air pollution have affected millions and have cost billions economically throughout the centuries. Food scarcity and security, health issues, and air quality have become major issues in our daily lives. Fortunately, decision-makers started taking action against climate change in the past three decades regarding efficient energy usage and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. The Japanese government created the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), a project-based bilateral crediting mechanism. The JCM intends to promote the adoption of cutting-edge low-carbon technologies, goods, systems, and infrastructure, which will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and support the sustainable growth of developing nations. 25 host nations have signed bilateral JCM agreements with Japan as of 2023. The JCM was launched in 2013 by the signing of a bilateral agreement by Mongolia, the first host nation. In this research paper, the importance of developing the Joint Crediting Mechanism has been investigated in the case of Mongolia. Throughout the research why was it important and how has Mongolia benefited from this mechanism and what were the challenges investigated and supported by the primary and secondary data that has been collected by interviews and other sources of information.
