摘要: | 隨著現代科技的發展,電子產品已經是人類生活中重要的一部分,現代社會中,人們無時無刻都在盯著手上的電子螢幕。以現在的社會而言,對於顯示器的需求是相當之大,而顯示器又以液晶顯示器為主流,而藍相液晶可說是這個世代相當熱門的研究題目。其優勢在於不需要配相層,且有亞毫秒的響應時間,若能使藍相液晶克服其高操作電壓和低穿透率的問題,藍相液晶可以說有非常好的發展空間。 本論文將由呂柏叡學長的結構,以當時的 Fringe in-plane switching(FIS) 的結構結合的FIS Mode with Double-layer與FIS mode with Square S-Shape。由此為延伸。討論多層的結構由Double-layer 演變成Triple-layer 是否有越高層數效果越好的結果。接著討論Square S-Shape結合Double-layer的概念下,是否有能改善穿透率和反射率。而論文中還會提及一個新的結構Partially no common,其是透過部分移除common的方式改善FIS結構中部分區段的亮度。而我們將透過改變參數,優化參數後,討論其結構是否能優化原先的結構。希望這些新的結構能夠使藍相液晶的應用和發展能夠更進一步。 With the development of modern technology, electronic products have become an important part of human life. In modern society, people are staring at the electronic screen on their hands all the time. In today's society, the demand for displays is quite large, and the display has so far been dominated by liquid crystal displays. Blue-phase liquid crystals has been a very popular research topic in recent years. Its advantages are that it does not need alignment layer and has a sub-millisecond response time. If the blue-phase liquid crystal can overcome its high operating voltage and low transmittance problems, it can have very good potential. In this thesis, we investigate further new designs of the FIS mode with Double-layer and the FIS mode with Square S-Shape. We first discuss whether the evolution of the multi-layer structure from Double-layer to Triple-layer can help further improve the performance. Then we discuss whether Square S-Shape combined with Double-layer concept can also help improve transmission and reflection. A new design of “Partially no common” will be described in the thesis, which is to improve the brightness of some sections of the FIS structure by partially removing the common electrode. We will discuss whether the structure can help improve the original structure by changing the parameters and optimizing them. We hope that these new structures can further advance the application and development of blue phase liquid crystal displays. |
