本研究以企業需求為出發點，架構一個基於即時通訊（Instant Message, IM）的行動化平台，並依此分析可能的商業模式。由於研究背景是以B2B商務為主，因此對行動化平台的著重點在於就地部署（on-premise）或私有雲的架構、以及彈性的系統整合介面，並據以建立針對不同產業類別的行動應用，經由客戶推廣過程中驗證系統實用性。在商務上以軟體服務的概念出發，嘗試對本研究的行動化平台在核心系統及軟體服務上做定位，在知所取捨的策略導向上，期望能避開一般企業在軟體開發上的問題，能以明確策略方向執行，創造價值。
With the advancement of digital technology and the prevalence of Smartphone, enterprise mobility has become one of the key successful factors in daily operation to grow business. Although Information Technology has been adopted by all kinds of business for many years, mostly are yet to be mobilized. As we migrating into the mobile era, various enterprise mobile solutions have emerged to enhance the efficiency of business daily operation.
This research is to study the business model of a message-driven mobility platform. The platform was structured for B2B solution with characteristics of on-premise deployment and open interface for flexible integration, which makes it capable of creating vertical applications for target industries. The value proposition is focused on software servitization, especially on solution integration and customization for specific industrial mobile applications.
The mobility platform in this study is also an innovation initiative in a major telecom company in Taiwan. It’s positioned as an internal new business with well-organized strategy and execution plan. However, the execution was stumbled over some typical problems on innovation initiative that would potentially lead to the failure of business transformation. Therefore, in addition to servitization and business model, this study collected and analyzed some actual problems that happened in the execution of new business within a big company. It is expected to provide a case study for internal or external entrepreneurs to avoid traps of innovation initiatives.
The year of 2016 is referenced as the beginning year of conversational commerce. That’s the business opportunity for a message-driven mobility platform. The software service model in the solution is the key for a profitable software business. On the other hand, with the conclusion of this study, some suggestions were provided to resolve execution issues of innovation initiative in a large corporate. This study is expected to be a good reference case for enterprise leaders and entrepreneurs in making managerial decisions or preparing new business plan.
