dc.description.abstract自民國77年3月至民國77年8月在陽明山國家公園之面天山區,進行66天的野外觀察,並以去趾編號法(toe-clipping)以及腰環上標法編號,研究白頜樹蛙(Rhacophorus megacephalus)的生殖行為。
面天山區的白頜樹蛙在民國77年的生殖活動始於3月13日,而於8月17日結束,為時5個月。生殖活動會受溫度及雨量的影響。5月為生殖活動高峰期,大量的雌、雄蛙於此時加入生殖活動。雄蛙在池中的平均逗留日數為21天,雌蛙可以多次至池中產卵,但每次僅逗留一夜。短時間的生殖個體性別比例(operation-al sex ratio)偏向雄蛙。
雄蛙會在地面上及植物上鳴叫,而當池中雄蛙數目較多的時候,會有聚集鳴叫的現象。叫聲可分為宣告叫聲(advertisement call)、求偶叫聲(courtship call)、釋放叫聲(release call)、壓迫叫聲(distress call)等四種。聚集鳴叫時,雄蛙間的距離可以十分靠近,敵對的行為並不常見。雌蛙會受雄蛙鳴叫聲的吸引而主動靠近雄蛙形成配對,雌蛙對配對的雄蛙具有選擇性。當池中雄蛙有聚集現象時,會有1到4隻雄蛙加入其他己配對的個體,形成共同配對。泡沫卵塊由配對的雌、雄蛙共同以後肢踢打形成。產卵的時間一般在3小時以內。
雄蛙可以多次交配,雌蛙最多曾至池中產卵3次。交配系統(mating system)屬於雜交(promiscuity)。雄蛙在池中的逗留日數會影響其獲得交配的機會,而體型大小和其交配成功的機會無顯著相關。配對的雌雄蛙在體型之間也沒有顯著的相關性。
