With the evolution of communication technique and countries' huge investment in communication infrastructure, IMT (International Mobile Telecommunications) timeline for IMT-2020 in ITU-R indicates that 5G ( 5th generation mobile networks ) services will be broadly deployment and popular in 2020. It is foreseen when tackling the challenges of high mobility, diversity devices and dynamic communication demands in the real world, V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) will be one of the important part; hence, approaches to achieve higher communication quality and better utilize spectrum in V2X has become more important topic. Presently, clustering users is the most common practice in V2V communication, which base on Device-to-Device (D2D) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication technique. Regarding role and communications of D2D/V2V cluster, there are 3 roles in the cluster, one Main-leader, one Sub-leader and multi Followers, all is enabling to communicate in the cluster nearby user's equipment and to base station as well. The concept of clustering has been discussed for years, however it is rare in discuss in the topic- Mobility of D2D/V2V cluster/group. Theatrically, when a D2D/V2V cluster/group moving to the boundary of the cell, it has to handover the group members information to the next serving base station. How to make sure communication continuity during the handover procedure is a good topic to be focused on. Hence, this thesis proposes a novel D2D/V2V group based mobility management scheme to ensure communication continuity when group handover. To construct a D2D/V2V group, a series of process is performed and then roles including a main leader, a sub leader and few followers are set. The main tasks as a main leader is to collect the group members’ information and represent the group to communicate to the base station. When the in moving group has to do handover, main leader will take the whole group to handover to the next serving base station. The special tasks of the sub leader is to prepare to be the main leader, when main leader is not eligible to represent the group, then sub leader will swap to the main leader. Moreover, Sub leader also need to check the link with other group member periodically, make sure it is suitable to be a sub leader. In some cases that sub leader wants leaving the group, checks and make sure connection link condition between those group members to sub leader is better than those condition link to main leader, consequently, Sub leader will take the member who satisfies this condition leave the group and become a new group. From the simulation result, it display the new group based mobility management scheme, has gained benefits in, lower down the handover failure rate, increase D2D/V2V service continuity, lower total handover transition interruption time and improve the group connection quality with base station. Clustering users improve in the key concerns of spectral efficiency, energy efficiency, and fairness in D2D, V2X communications. Extending clustering users concepts, a further study in Group-based Enhancement Device-to-Device/Vehicle-to-Vehicle Mobility Management is proven that significantly improve D2D/V2V communication quality, will be worthy to apply to D2D/ V2X world. |
