| zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | In recent decade, smartphone has a great influence on human’s life. Smartphone ownership grows at a skyrocketing speed, and people spending more and more time on using smartphone every day. But the poor posture and overusing of smartphone can easily cause neck pain. There’s also a new term called ‘text neck’, which means bending neck forward for a long period of time or too frequently. There’s several study shows that neck flexion leads to neck pain. In this paper, we propose a wearable device and a posture monitoring algorithm, based on the inertial measurement units mounted on top of the head and upper back. By this, we can monitor user’s neck and spine posture. In the future, we look forward to implement the system on smartphone, in order to monitor posture in daily life.
In the first experiment, we will discuss about the relationship between phone tilting angle and neck and spine posture. Unexpectedly, we found out that phone tilting angle has no correlation with single user’s neck angle and thoracic angle. In the next experiment, we evaluate our algorithm between IMU and Vicon data. Moreover, we discover some important conclusions. For example, the height of the smartphone is the major factor affecting human posture. Otherwise, neck angle has relation with thoracic angle, which means bending head forward can affect thoracic angle. | en |
