| dc.description.abstract | 憂鬱症對於個體及社會均有相當大的負面影響。
| dc.description.abstract | Major depressive disorder places a heavy burden on individuals and society. In this context, overgeneral autobiographical memory, has been found to have a robust association with depression symptoms and be one of the vulnerability factors for depression (Williams et al., 2007). Moreover, Sutin and Robins (2008) hypothesize an appraisal process of autobiographical memory in which an individual can self-regulate by changing visual perspective of the memory retrieved process. However, there has been no consistent agreement regarding the effects of visual perspective on dysphoric mood and specificity of autobiographical memory. In this study, the authors investigated the effects of visual perspective on dysphoric mood and specificity of autobiographical memory under negative mood context. First, 288 college students completed the questionnaires. Then, 131 participants, met BDI-II criteria, were randomly assigned to use the 1st or the 3rd person perspective to recall negative experience again after negative mood induction. With T1 mood state as control factor, a 2 (dysphoric/nondysphoric group) × 2 (visual perspectives) × 3 (time) ANCOVA was conducted for analysis the mood change. A 2 (dysphoric/nondysphoric group) × 2 (visual perspectives) × 2 (pre-test/post-test) ANOVA was conducted for the generality of autobiographical memory. The results showed that, the 3rd person perspective could reduce negative emotion. However, there was no significant difference on the generality of autobiographical memory in depression level, visual perspectives, nor was in pre- vs. post-test. | en |
