Abstract
DTR Inc, is a new company looking to break into the book rental business by reinventing the entire consumer experience from visiting physical bookstores to subscribing for book rentals online. As physical book rental shops are declining in numbers due to various factors, such as the inconvenience of having to make time to go to the store, and not being able to get the latest popular book titles, DTR will offer a new alternate way for book lovers to be able to pursue their love of reading.
Taking on the new O2O (Online to Offline) trend within the retail industry, DTR Inc engages the Subscription Business Model to get new subscribers for maximum revenue. DTR Inc also uses technology, through websites/mobile application and in-house algorithm to match the book titles most suited to subscribers’ interests to enhance their reading pleasure, thus ensuring subscriber retention.
This business plan also looks at the market analysis of the book selling/rental industry and attempts to identify DTR Inc’s competitive edge through the SWOT Analysis of its current status. It also discusses the implementation strategy of DTR Inc to penetrate the market and the future growth of the company.
With this business proposal, DTR Inc is confident to turn the current book rental industry from a sunset industry to a new engaging experience for their subscribers.
