| zh_TW |
| dc.description.abstract | Purpose:In order to prevent from dental caries or treat it in early lesion stage, we developed the fluoride releasing strip. To determine the fluoride releasing strip with security, convenience and function to prevent tooth decay, we compared the influence of fluoride strip and commercial toothpaste on enamel surface.
Method:This experiment used pH Cycling system to test the specimens after fluoride strip attached, and commercial toothpaste as a control group. We used ion chromatography(IC) to analyze the loss and uptake of calcium. X-ray electron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to analyze the effect of the different adhesion time on the enamel surface structure. Result:XPS and SEM results showed that fluoride strip attached to 24 hours, the main product of the enamel surface is mixture of calcium fluoride and fluorapatite. The same concentration of fluoride in the toothpaste cannot achieve this effect, the surface is only likely presence of fluorapatite and calcium hydroxide. Ion chromatography analysis revealed that the comparative fluoride strip with toothpaste, the fluoride strip to better slow down the degree of enamel mineral loss, and can increase the ability to enamel remineralization. Conclusion:The experimental results infer that the formation of calcium fluoride and fluorapatite in the enamel surface after use of fluoride strip. Contrast with toothpaste, the fluoride strip is more effective to show the anti-caries effects of fluoride. Therefore, in the home or clinical use, the strip has considerable potential to become a good prevention method of dental caries. | en |
