dc.description.abstract | CORE Fit is a four-week physical activity intervention designed using the persuasive system design framework (PSD) and conducted using a private Facebook group targeting employees in a workplace setting. This study aims to use Facebook as a social support platform to increase physical activity by using various features from Facebook including: wall posts, photo and video uploads, polls, events, likes, reacts, and comments. CORE Fit also uses the social cognitive theory (SCT) and social network theory, and is evaluated using the RE-AIM framework. This quasi-experiment uses pre-intervention and post- intervention surveys to measure the outcomes of both the control group and experiment group. The data collected was later analyzed using IBM SPSS. The results from this intervention showed a statistically significant increase in physical activity amongst the experimental group after the four week intervention. | en |
