dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this business plan is to define the strategy how to utilize author’s background and take a new social business startup from local market in Finland to the developing countries. The main focus in the strategy will be in mobile services.
The mobile industry is growing fast. The business plan first describes the global phenomenon around mobile devices, applications and trends. These are related to the core services of the future company. Mobile services have a huge potential in developing countries. Part of the entry strategy to this target market is the international aid and other funding opportunities aimed for the developing countries. In addition to the industry analysis, also the potential partners and example projects are researched. The financial chapter focuses on the potential government funding and analysis the opportunities to gain it.
The strategy is divided into two sections: The first phase of the strategy will focus on the local market, Finland. It includes local market analysis, the target market and services, and the business models used in home country. The main objective in the home market is to develop networks and access to the developing countries while gaining more experience on mobile services and applications. The second phase of the strategy focuses on the developing countries, and the services and target markets there.
In addition, the marketing and communications strategy defines the company branding themes. It also includes the plan for internal and external communications, such as the marketing channels and main messages. Finally, the practical roadmap describes work plan and also some timeframe scenarios in short-term and long-term. It also projects financial scenarios for the first years of operations.
