摘要: | 隨著智慧型行動裝置與行動上網的普及,早期於電腦上的應用已逐漸轉移至手機或其他輕便可攜的行動載具。無論身處於何種情境下,以輕巧的手機作為隨身閱讀裝置,已成為現代人生活的新興趨勢與潮流。因應數位行動時代來臨與智慧型手機持有人口的快速成長下,瞭解手機閱讀族群的數位閱讀行為有其必要,因此本研究以「大台北地區捷運通勤族手機數位閱讀使用者」為研究對象,探討大台北地區捷運通勤族在手機數位閱讀活動上的整體現象,包含瞭解大台北地區捷運通勤族的手機數位閱讀行為、影響大台北地區捷運通勤族手機數位閱讀的因素,以及手機數位閱讀對大台北地區捷運通勤族的影響等三個層面。研究採用質化研究的半結構式訪談法蒐集資料,並以紮根理論進行資料分析,依據訪談分析結果,得出主要結論如下:
一、大台北地區捷運通勤族使用手機閱讀之主要動機為打發時間,而手機本身之輕便可攜性與便利性,亦是其於捷運上使用手機閱讀的重要誘因。 二、大台北地區捷運通勤族在手機上最常使用社交工具,且大多數的手機閱讀偏好內容,皆需透過行動上網取得。 三、大台北地區捷運通勤族的手機閱讀行為模式以瀏覽為主,僅有在對個人少數特定的閱讀類型或發現興趣文章時,會出現細讀的情形;在手機上閱讀內容與處理資訊的策略與方式,具有個人化的特質。 四、大台北地區捷運通勤族會同時利用多種的方式,透過不同的管道獲取手機閱讀資訊。大多來自於個人的主動搜尋,其中,手機內建軟體商店是最主要的閱讀取得管道。 五、當長時間通勤時,大台北地區捷運通勤族會傾向選擇閱讀較長或連續性的文章內容,而在短時間通勤時,會傾向選擇較短或可快速閱讀完畢的訊息內容。 六、影響大台北地區捷運通勤族使用手機數位閱讀的原因,包含載體特性、軟體服務、通訊特性、費用索取、個人內在及外在環境等六大因素。 七、手機數位閱讀對大台北地區捷運通勤族的影響正面多於負面。正面影響主要來自於生活與工作各方面的便利與效率提昇;負面影響為長時間使用導致對於健康的危害及對周遭環境注意力的下降。 八、大台北地區捷運通勤族手機數位閱讀使用者期待有更多元化的閱讀主題選擇,以及更多免費的閱讀文本。 最後,依據上述之研究結果與發現,文末分別從數位閱讀服務之提供、推廣等二方面提出建議。未來後續之研究方向,建議可進一步瞭解人們在捷運上的手機閱讀行為與日常生活中的手機閱讀行為,二者間有無差異性及關聯性,以及年齡層或通勤時段的不同,是否對捷運通勤族在手機數位閱讀行為方面造成差異或影響;亦可擴大研究範圍,針對使用不同行動載具、搭乘不同大眾運輸工具之通勤族的數位閱讀行為進行相關研究與探討。 With the increasing popularity of smart phone devices and mobile internet usage, there is a shift of application from traditional computers to mobile phones or other portable devices. Having a smart phone as a reading device is now becoming part of modern lifestyle. In accordance with the rising digital mobile era and the rapid growing population to carry smart phone device, it is essential and necessary to understand the digital reading behavior among the mobile reading crowd. This research targets at the mobile reading users among the MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei to study the phenomenon of mobile reading among the Taipei MRT commuters, covers below three prospective: comprehensive understanding of mobile reading behavior of MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei, factors which influence mobile reading of MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei and the impact of mobile reading towards MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei. This research collects data by adopting semi-structured interview of qualitative methodology and analyses data with grounded theory. Summarized conclusions from the analysis result as below: A. Main motivation for MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei to engage with mobile reading is to spend time. Portability and convenience of mobile phone are important features which add on attractions to mobile reading on MRT. B. Social tool is the most frequently used tool for mobile reading users of MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei. Most mobile reading focus on content reading and this requires internet access to obtain. C. The mobile reading of MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei has a behavior pattern which focuses on content browsing. Only minority of the commuters will read in details should they encounter to topics and types which are to their interest and preference. There will be a personal characteristic associated to mobile reading content and ways to process information. D. MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei have many different ways and channels to obtain mobile reading information. They obtain information mostly by browsing actively and especially via APP available. E. MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei tend to choose long-form online writings when the commute time is long. They tend to choose some short stories which can be finished quickly when commute time is short. F. Factors which influence mobile reading of MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei can be categorized into six major factors: carrier characteristic, software service, communication characteristic, associated charge, personal preference as well as external environment. G. There are more positive than negative impacts of mobile reading to the MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei. Examples of positive impacts are convenience and increase in efficiency in both personal life and work. Examples of negative impacts are health hazard due to spending long hours on mobile reading and decrease in attention level to the surrounding environment. H. Mobile reading users who are MRT commuters in Metropolitan Taipei anticipate having more diversifying reading topics and more free reading articles available for their selection. Last but not least, based on the above research finding, this document will provide comment from the prospective of providing and promoting digital reading service. Recommended directions for future research will be to further understand any difference or correlation between mobile readings when on MRT commute and when not. In addition, is there any difference or impact to mobile reading behavior of MRT commuters among different age groups and if the commute time varies. The research scoop can be expanded to include mobile reading behavior by adapting to different mobile devices and public transportation tools. |
