| zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | Background: The Sentence Repetition subtest of the National Taiwan University Aphasia Examination is one of the neuropsychological tests to assess the sentence repetition ability. However, there are currently lacks of psychometric property and normative data for the Sentence Repetition subtest of the National Taiwan University Aphasia Examination in the Taiwanese population. Objective: The present study aimed to establish a Taiwanese norm for the Sentence Repetition subtest of the National Taiwan University Aphasia Examination. Psychometric properties and influences of demographical variables on the performance of the test were investigated. Method: We recruited 321 healthy adults stratified by age, education level, gender, and area of residence. Thirty participants were additionally administered other neuropsychological tests for validity examination. Clinical patient groups were also recruited for verifying the validity. Another subgroup of thirty participants was retested at least 2 months later for test-retest reliability examination. Results: Education and age effects rather than the gender one were evident in performing the Sentence Repetition subtest of the National Taiwan University Aphasia Examination. The results also showed adequate test-retest reliability and construct validity for the Sentence Repetition subtest of the National Taiwan University Aphasia Examination. The normative data showed good representativeness, recency, and relevance. Conclusion: The Sentence Repetition subtest of the National Taiwan University Aphasia Examination has an adequate reliability and validity. Based on the significant evidence of demographic effects on the test performance, the present study provides age and educational demographic-corrected normative data and a referential table for percentile ranks for research and clinical setting. | en |
