| zh_TW |
| dc.description.abstract | With an attempt to build a robot platform suitable for studying robot behaviors that accord to prevailing social manners, we have brought into existence the NTU-PAL2, a robot capable of performing emotional expressions. This robot affords a demonstration platform and presents us an opening to further experiments on the course of learning principles of design robots migrating from industrial felds into people's everyday life.
Emotional behaviors are commonly adopted in the design of social robots. In the hope to provide interactions that are natural and of high level of acceptance between human and robot, such behaviors should follow social manners which people are already accustomed to. Learning proper emotion regulation according to different social context is important in an individual's socialization. In designing robots, such regulation should also be taken into account so as to help robots behave more human-like and therefore more socially competent. In this thesis, we give an introduction to our robot platform NTU-PAL2, which is capable of performing emotional expressions. By using this robot in our experiment, we investigate user acceptance of robot's emotional behaviors in different social environments and the effect of introducing emotion regulation in robot's expressing of emotions. | en |
