摘要: | 目前工業界普遍採用定向摩擦法制備配向膜,但此法存在許多的缺點,像是在摩擦的過程中會產生靜電力或是碎屑,這都會造成液晶顯示器的品質下降。
本實驗中先合成兩種化學性質不同的聚胺酯改質丙烯酸酯:D-UAs及F-UAs。接著利用軟性模板壓印法在聚胺酯改質丙烯酸樹脂表面製備出微溝槽結構。軟性模板壓印法能方便且快速的製備出配向膜,且壓印出的微溝槽結構非常整齊,也可避免靜電及碎屑的產生。藉由測量對水的接觸角以及觀察正交偏光顯微鏡下液晶的配向情形,我們發現D-UARs表面較親水,由其製備的配向膜會使液晶分子呈水平配向;而F-UAs極為疏水,由其製備的配向膜則會使液晶分子呈垂直配向。 我們從文獻中知道,配向膜的配向能力與表面化學性質及表面結構有關。於是我們將D-UAs和F-UAs以不同的比例混合,由此調控表面化學性質,可得到許多親疏水程度不同的表面。而最終我們成功地在固定液晶種類及表面起伏的條件下,藉由親疏水程度不同的表面達到調控預傾角的目的,並得到表面親疏水性與預傾角的關聯曲線。 Nowadays, rubbing is the most common method to fabricate alignment layers. But it still exists a lot of drawbacks, such as static electricity and contaminants which will deteriorate the quality of LCD. In this work, we synthesize two kinds of polyurethane modified acrylates which are D-UAs and F-UAs. And the soft embossing method is proposed to fabricate grating structure on surfaces of polyurethane modified acrylate resins. This method provides a convenient and rapid way to make alignment layers. By water contact angle measurements and the optical micrographs of liquid crystal alignment taken between crossed polarizers, we find that the D-UARs surface is hydrophilic and the LC alignment is planar and that the F-UARs surface is hydrophobic and the LC alignment is homeotropical. The alignment ability relates to surface property and surface structure. Thus, we mix D-UAs and F-UAs with different ratio to modify the surface property. And we can control the LC pretilt angle successfully by the modifications of surface chemical properties under fixed surface topography and liquid crystal type. |
