dc.description.abstract | 糖尿病是因為胰島素缺乏或胰島素不活化造成的複雜的症候群。 | zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of conditions of insulin deficient or insulin insensitivity. In dogs, DM is highly related to genetic background, gender, age and diet. The incidence, risk factors and clinical profile of canine diabetes mellitus was studied based on the medical records in the National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital. The pharmaceutical action of two different types of insulin, Caninsulin and Insulatard, in diabetic dogs was also investigated. In the present study, we found that the condition was mainly affected female, middle to aged canine population which was similar to that of other investigations. The insulin dosage used in our well-controlled 28 cases was also similar as other studies. In these cases, both insulins have the ability to decrease blood glucose to the normal level in four hours. The resembling insulin dosage, nadir, and the time to nadir all suggest that in dogs, recombinant human insulin has similar potency and kinetics as porcine insulin. | en |
