Hong Kong has always been the star of the world. Besides the economic mircle, the Handover of 1997 is also the reason that “The Pearl of the East” received unprecedented attention of the international community. Because it was declared “One Country Two Systems”, Hong Kong became the unification model to Taiwan. The Post-1997 Hong Kong also becomes one of the hottest topics in Formosa. However, whether it was the West or Taiwan, Hong Kong to them was defined and exercised by its political needing but not by being itself. Under the complex situation of identity politics in Taiwan, the misunderstanding to Hong Kong was especially obvious. This study tries to supply an approach of field research and reflect the subjectivity of myself to observe a way to touch “How does a Taiwanese look at Hong Kong?” I use the way to turn back the identity politics in Hong Kong since 1970s. After the identity dialog between Taiwan and Hong Kong, I will also point the void of People’s Republic of China’s “Patriotism Engineering” to govern Hong Kong. |
