Abstract: 自1970年代Edgar. F. Codd提出關聯式表格開始,資料庫工業蓬勃發展。在近二十年來,為了達到分析資料的目的,而不僅僅是單純的資訊呈現,多維度的資料模型開始受到重視;然而,並非所有的資料型態都能實現多維度資料模型,而有時候也無法單用OLAP工具(On-line analytical processing tool)就能得到有意義的資訊,資料探勘(data mining)方法的介入是必要的。
醫學資料庫中存放了相當大量的資料,使用者以醫生、護士等醫療專業人士居多,且大多數以病人做為資料中心;然而,資料庫中同欄位的資料往往會隱含不同的屬性,能對應到其他特定欄位而產生一些非直接、不同意義上的關連。所以我們希望導入多維度資料庫的概念,能讓不同使用者從不同維度深入資料庫,試著在龐大的醫學資料庫中,找到有意義的pattern,分析出有趣的結果。
本論文的目標是以有限的資料量,盡可能提供多元化的分析資料;我們使用線上分析處理的方法(OLAP),定義出可能的使用者與其可能感興趣的資料模型,再導入資料探勘的處理,分析單一資料方塊(data cube)的獨特性。
在進行資料統計與分析的過程,產生的資料量可能相當瑣碎,所謂'一張圖勝過千言萬語',為了有效率地呈現已定義的資料,本系統提供了視覺化的介面,讓使用者能一目了然,且直觀地操作更進一步的搜尋。
Since E.F. Codd introduced the relational table as database model in 1970, the relational table was served as the foundation of today’s multibillion-dollar database industry. During the past decade, the multidimensional data model was proposed for use when the objective is to analyze data rather than to perform online transactions. However, not every data set is suitable for multidimensional data model, and sometimes OLAP alone can not provide meaningful information.
The medical industry collects large amounts of data for physicians, nurse and the other professional users, searching for patient-oriented record. As each item among the same data column of database can generate hidden relation with other specific data column, the propose of this paper implement a system based on multidimensional database, try to provide different dimensions for users from the other fields to explore database intuitively.
In this paper, we integrated OLAP cubes and statistical method to build a system, which presents a rich environment for different users, and provide useful visualization tool to improves information demonstration.
