dc.description.abstract | 本研究的主要目的在於了解虛擬機器的相關架構,與透過個案來分析導入VMware 的解決方案。本研究分析評估採用虛擬化技術的可行性與如何執行導入虛擬化的計畫。導入虛擬化的好處與折衷在本個案研究中有詳細的描述,以給予未來有興趣採用虛擬化的相關業者能夠做各方面的評估。
個案研究包含了VMware Infrastructure 3 的功能面的介紹與其可以在虛擬環境中所帶來管理營運上的助益。除了虛擬架構的建置外,本論文也詳細說明了在導入虛擬化所可能遇到的問題,還有從使用者和系統管理者等不同的角度,來看虛擬架構所帶來的影響。 個案中虛擬架構的投資報酬率上的表現顯示出購買高階的軟體和硬體來建置虛擬環境並提供服務,是可以在短期之內得到回報。導入虛擬化的關鍵成功要素也在本研究中探討。 | zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | This Thesis shows the steps taken to implement a VMware based virtual infrastructure in a testing lab for a large software development company in Taiwan. In order to successfully deploy the virtual infrastructure, this Thesis analyzes the assessments of adopting the virtualization and planning of deployment. The benefits and trade-offs are described to ensure adopters of virtualization technologies to plan for benefits and downsides.
The deployment scopes VMware Infrastructure 3 solutions (VI3). This Thesis covers the features of VI3. The previous configuration of the lab is based on x86 rack mount physical machines. This Thesis shows how to implement a virtual infrastructure based on VMware ESX and LabManager. Besides configuration of virtual infrastructure, this Thesis also focuses on some remarkable issues found during the implementation and the impacts of using a virtual infrastructure from different points of views are addressed. The economical performance and ROI shows where it is justified to purchase expensive software and hardware to implement a virtual infrastructure. The key successful factors of adopting virtual infrastructure are also discussed. | en |
