摘要: | 本文探討楊起元(1547—1599)與其師羅汝芳(1515—1588)的師生關係,如何關聯其學術發展。首先考察二人的交往歷程,注意到兩人親身會面僅只二回,書信交往也多仰賴中介者協助。不過,楊起元於師教篤信弗疑,使其符合羅汝芳的期待,因而被認定為師學繼承人。羅氏逝後,楊起元參與三類紀念羅汝芳的活動,分別是私謚、編纂與建祠,這些活動重新塑造羅汝芳之學。其中,楊起元因閱讀羅汝芳遺集,深感羅子之學於仁孝有獨到發揮,因而開啟《孝經》編纂工程。楊氏藉此發揚羅汝芳的孝弟慈論,但是比起羅氏孝論的源頭《大學》,他更為推崇《孝經》,也認為該經更為契合羅氏之學。師門孝論的核心經典,在楊起元手上完成從《大學》到《孝經》的轉換。然而,此一轉換並非有意立異於師,而是楊起元堅定相信師學已臻至境,致使他將自得之學歸於羅子之學。這個將自得歸於師學的嘗試,是在羅、楊師生對彼此篤信不疑的關係之中方得實現。 This thesis examines the teacher-student relationship between Yang Qiyuan (1547—1599) and his mentor, Luo Rufang (1515—1588), with a special focus on how the relationship shaped Yang’s thoughts. The first chapter delves into the interactions between Yang and Luo, which shows that the two met merely two times and their bonding did not seem strong as described. After Luo’s death, Yang involved in multiple kinds of movements commemorating this mentor, three of which, including deciding Luo’s posthumous name, editing Luo’s writings, and building his shrine. Among them, Yang, due to his reading of Luo’s late collections, was so moved by Luo’s insights in jen (benovolence) and hsiao (filial piety) that he dedicated to an editing program on the Classic of Filial Piety and Luo’s related words or writings. While promoting Luo’s theory of filial piety, Yang found the Classic of Filial Piety fit more in Luo’s theory rather than the Great Learning, from which Luo formulated his theory. The foundation of Luo’s theory was thus shifted from the Great Learning to the Classic of Filial Piety, parallel with the development of Yang’s program. What led to this shift, however, was not Yang’s intention to but his belief in Luo, which allowed and convinced him to attribute his attainment on himself to the thought of his teacher. The attempt of Yang’s attribution was realized in he and Luo’s relationship based on wholeheartedly and mutually hsin (trust, belief). |
